The Chicago Bulls and DeMar DeRozan were a solid match three years ago.

Billy Donovan’s team allowed DeRozan to prove that he was far from done, and he drove his market value up again.

Now, with the Bulls set to enter a rebuilding process, they will have to part ways with their star shooting guard.

With that in mind, the Sacramento Kings have shown an interest in acquiring his services, and, according to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, they’ll meet with his camp on Saturday to discuss their recruiting pitch.

Notably, this isn’t the first time that we’ve heard of the Kings’ interest in the California native.

The USC star has weighed in on a homecoming to his home state for years, and he was reportedly quite close to signing with the Los Angeles Lakers before he signed with the Bulls.

Now, he could be heading to Northern Cali to play for an up-and-coming Kings team that’s well-coached by Mike Brown and which already features two legitimate stars in De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

While not much of a floor-spacer, DeRozan is a master of the mid-range, not to mention a willing passer and an intelligent player.

He’s also been quite durable for most of his career, and having him and Fox there should give Keegan Murray plenty of wide-open shots.

The Kings will most likely have to engage in a sign-and-trade with the Bulls in order to get this deal done, so we’ll have to stay tuned to see how this situation pans out.
