Over the years, the NBA has gone through some major changes to help offensive players in the league get easier looks to score.

On the other hand, the level of talent has only increased in the league as compared to the last few decades.

Keeping that in mind, it’s no surprise that fans have witnessed so many scoring outbursts from star players in recent years.

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic became the most recent NBA player to score more than 70 points in a regular season game.

Upon seeing Doncic’s performance against the Atlanta Hawks, DeMar DeRozan made a huge prediction for the 2023-24 NBA season via his official Twitter handle.

“Somebody going to score a 100 before the season over,” DeRozan said.

Somebody going to score a 100 before the season over!

The 34-year-old Chicago Bulls star believes that it’s only a matter of time before an NBA player scores 100 points in a game.

In fact, DeRozan predicts it could happen before the 2023-24 NBA season is over.

It’s a well-known fact that Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points is the most number of points scored by a player in the history of the NBA.

But if DeRozan’s prediction turns out to be a reality, fans could see that record being broken this season.

There are numerous talented players in the NBA right now who could catch fire and absolutely decimate opponents with their scoring.

If we have to make a prediction about which player could score 100 points this season, a safe bet would be to pick the likes of Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, or even Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

After all, the above-mentioned three players are currently in the race to win the 2024 NBA Scoring Title.
