At one point in his NBA playing career, DeMarcus Cousins was considered to be the best big man in the league, as he had the perfect combination of size, speed and skill, which no other player in the NBA could contend with on a nightly basis.
Unfortunately for Cousins, the best years of his career were with the Sacramento Kings, who failed miserably to surround him with talent, resulting in the star center never really knowing what it felt like to be a winner on the professional level.
Every time Cousins had a chance to feel that way, he went down with an unfortunate injury or was simply past his prime due to the injuries piling up and impacting the way he played.
Despite Cousins being bogged down with injuries over the years and no longer looking like the dominant big of old, he tried to extend his career with stints with teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Denver Nuggets at the end of his career in the NBA.
Cousins even tried his luck overseas as he still wanted to play, but now seems content with walking away from the game, and told Clippers star Paul George why he feels that way on Podcast P with Paul George.
“I had to come to a peace with it when it came to my family and my situation at home,” Cousins said.

Cousins is definitely one of the talented players that saw his career come to an end too early due to constant injury problems that got worse and worse as he tried to extend his playing career.
If Cousins had stayed healthy, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he would’ve won multiple NBA titles, but in the end, his body couldn’t hold up.
