The New York Knicks have given fans plenty to be happy about this season because they have been looking good since the start of the year and are now ready to move into the postseason.
A major part of their success this year has been because of superstar guard Jalen Brunson, who has been the lynchpin of the team in several ways.
Because of his hard work and toughness, former NBA star DeMarcus Cousins thinks that Brunson should be part of the MVP conversation.
“This Knicks team is built strictly off toughness. I think Jalen Brunson should be one of the top names when it comes to MVP this season,” DeMarcus Cousins told Rachel Nichols, via New York Basketball on Twitter.
Cousins added that Brunson needs to be one of the top-five MVP contenders, an idea that Rajon Rondo agreed with.

Brunson has recorded 27.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game so far this season, shooting 47.5% from the field and 39.7% from the three-point line.
This is his second season with the Knicks and his numbers have improved across the board.
Because of that, Brunson earned his first All-Star selection this year and has been talked about as one of the best guards in the league.
However, his name hasn’t been tossed around as a potential MVP.
Rondo said that Brunson is one of the best post-up guards in the NBA, especially for his size.
And, as noted by Cousins, he plays with a level of toughness that allows him to post tricky shots despite the size of his opponents.
Brunson has been leading his team all season, but now they are about to push into the playoffs and they wish to make a big impact in the East.
This will be yet another chance to prove just how valuable he is to the Knicks.
