The FIBA World Cup has finally come to an end, with Germany coming out on top against Serbia in the final over the weekend.
Although Team USA was the talk of the tournament, with the Americans being the favorite to win gold, Germany flew under the radar and was able to dominate the competition, finishing with an undefeated record.
Perhaps the biggest winner of the FIBA World Cup is NBA star and new Toronto Raptors point guard Dennis Schroder, who became the team’s undisputed leader with his brilliant performances from one game to the next.
With Schroder playing well throughout the tournament and ultimately leading his team to victory in the final over Serbia, the veteran guard has been named the Tissot MVP of the FIBA World Cup, according to the official Twitter account of the FIBA World Cup.
A true leader on the floor.

Even though Schroder isn’t considered an NBA superstar and has bounced around the league quite a bit during his time on the professional level, he seems to excel on the international stage, as he played well for Germany last summer as well.
As for his NBA career, Schroder is still looking for that elusive championship in the United States and will try his luck with the Raptors after multiple stints with the Los Angeles Lakers recently.
The Raptors recently signed Schroder to a three-year deal worth $33 million after the team lost All-Star point guard Fred VanVleet to the Houston Rockets in NBA free agency.
Although the Raptors seem to be rebuilding, Schroder will be a welcome addition to the squad in Toronto.
