When Derek Carr left the Las Vegas Raiders for the New Orleans Saints, not a lot was known about the situation.
Fans were aware that Carr was looking for a way out, and the organization granted it.
Now that he’s a member of the Saints, Carr has finally spoken up about the ending of his time with the Raiders.
In a conversation with Anthony Galaviz of the Fresno Bee, Carr said, “I was very upset, I was mad.”
Saints QB Derek Carr on how it all ended with Raiders: “I would have said I don’t even want the money, just to play two more times in front of our fans. I didn’t get that opportunity.”https://t.co/v6YVizgSWG pic.twitter.com/1JrGybxc2T

It appears that Carr’s final interactions with the team weren’t as pleasant as he was hoping for.
Carr spent nine years as the team’s franchise quarterback and holds many of the organization’s passing records.
When discussing the reason that he left, he said “I would have said I don’t even want the money, just to play two more times in front of our fans.”
Carr wasn’t given that chance, and said, “It definitely lit a fire inside me to keep going.”
There were allegedly more problems with the team than just Carr himself.
As he said in this interview, “Once they made my wife cry, that was pretty much over.”
Carr believed that to best protect himself and his family moving forward, it was time to move on from the Raiders.
The team hasn’t yet responded to these claims, and at this time, it’s not known if they will, especially considering that Carr has moved on.
Now, he’ll get a second opportunity with the Saints in hopes of striking gold with a new organization.
