The All-Star break is here in MLB, so it’s time to sit back, relax, enjoy the competitions and festivities, and analyze the season to this day and what could come in the future.
Speaking about sound analysis, former New York Yankees star and Hall of Famer Derek Jeter was asked about who he thinks is the team to beat in the American League with the playoffs in mind.
Jeter’s answer might be a bit surprising: he says that team is the Houston Astros.
The Tampa Bay Rays have the best record in the junior circuit and the Astros aren’t even leading their division, but that doesn’t matter in the eyes of Jeter.

Jeter likes the Astros in October because “they have experience.”
“Once they reach the postseason, they actually relax and the biggest reason behind that is Dusty Baker,” he said, praising the Astros skipper and speaking about his calmness and how he transmits that to players.
Jeter knows a thing or two about thriving in the postseason, so he is an authorized voice to discuss these things.
When many players fall victim to the enormous pressure of playing postseason baseball, the Astros are extremely confident in their ability to play well and that calmness has helped them reach the last six American League Championship Series (ALCS), with two World Series wins.
Houston might not quite look the part right now, but they will eventually show why they are the reigning World Series champs.
