Derrick Rose of the Memphis Grizzlies just finished his 14th year in the NBA, averaging 8 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists on 46.1% from the field.
Because of his age, Rose hasn’t been playing as much lately, which had some people assuming that retirement was just around the corner.
But the three-time All-Star isn’t hanging up his jersey just yet.
According to NBACentral, Rose is not retiring.
“I’m coming back,” he said, via Damichael Cole.

This was his first season with the Grizzlies but he didn’t get to play too much during it.
Rose was one of the many Memphis players who got hurt in 2023-24 and he ended up only playing in 24 games, starting in seven of them.
When he was brought to the Grizzlies last summer, Rose was envisioned as an experienced and proven star who would add a lot to the roster.
He was seen as someone who could help with the offense and improve the team’s culture.
Others hoped he’d become a mentor for Ja Morant, who has faced a storm of problems for his off-court life choices.
Rose didn’t get a whole lot of time with Morant this year because of injuries but the good news is that he will possibly be with the team next season.
This season was a nightmare for the Grizzlies but fans are sure that next year could be a lot better.
By this time next year, the Grizzlies may again be one of the best teams in the Western Conference.
As for Rose, he might get more time to help the squad in a number of ways, both on and off the court.
The former Rookie of the Year and MVP has already done so much during his career but it’s not over yet.
