The Cleveland Browns ended up making the playoffs last season thanks in large part to the NFL Comeback Player of the Year, quarterback Joe Flacco.
Browns starting quarterback Deshaun Watson missed a major chunk of the season after injuring his shoulder.
One player who helped both Watson and Flacco significantly last season was Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Cooper, who set a career-high with 1,250 receiving yards last year, is awaiting a contract extension and has been away from the team.
Watson recently spoke in front of the Cleveland media about his connection with Cooper.
“It’s not like he’s missed a beat. … We know what he can do. … He’s shown that over the offseason,” Watson stated.

Cooper obviously is one of the focal points in Cleveland’s offense. Ever since he came over from the Dallas Cowboys in 2022, he has produced at a very high level.
The former Alabama star has turned in back-to-back seasons with 70+ receptions and 1,100+ yards.
After seeing multiple star wide receivers around the league — Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, Jaylen Waddle and even new Browns teammate Jerry Jeudy — get paid this offseason, Cooper has been looking to make sure he is taken care of heading into the future.
He is heading into the final year of the five-year contract he signed with the Cowboys in 2020.
If Cleveland wants to contend in a packed AFC, the Browns may want to consider trying a little harder to find common ground with one of the league’s most underrated players.
