The last few years haven’t gone as well as the Chicago Bulls might have hoped.
They have added some marquee talent to their roster to try and make a deep postseason run, but unfortunately for them, that has not been the case.
The Bulls did make the playoffs in the 2021-2022 season, but before that, their last playoff appearance was during the 2016-2017 campaign.
With this in mind, the Bulls are seemingly trying to reset their roster, hoping to build for the future with young players, rather than holding on to their veterans.
The team made this abundantly clear with their recent trade of DeMar DeRozan, and are now looking to move off of Zach LaVine.
According to reporter Joe Cowley via NBA Central, “The Chicago Bulls are hoping to attach two second-round picks in potential trades to offload Zach LaVine’s contract.”

While the Bulls want to build for their future, they are willing to move multiple second-round picks just to move on from LaVine.
He hasn’t produced as well as the team wanted, and they are hoping to cut their losses, rather than keep him for another season or two.
At one point, LaVine was viewed as one of the most electric athletes in the NBA.
He was a rising star for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and his dunking skills were viewed as next-level, often compared to Michael Jordan in that respect.
Unfortunately for LaVine, he has since fallen from grace, and the Bulls are looking for any potential suitor to acquire him and his contract.
