The Milwaukee Bucks will have their third head coach in less than two years.
With Adrian Griffin out the door and Doc Rivers taking over, the team is going to spend plenty of cash on someone to lead the way for them.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Bucks will sign Rivers to a deal running through 2026 (via Run It Back).
Moreover, the expectation is that the contract will be fully guaranteed with no options and in the range of $40 million.
“Doc Rivers is going to sign a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks through 2026…No options, fully guaranteed contract, in the range of $40 million dollars,” Charania said.

Griffin being fired despite having the second-best record in the league was a bit of a surprise to some.
Nonetheless, the team had some evident issues and they never solved any of them throughout the first half of the campaign.
Some players reportedly had issues with Griffin’s schemes and communication skills, and their once-elite defense had plummeted.
On top of that, Damian Lillard’s efficiency and scoring averages took a major dip since arriving in Wisconsin, and his pairing with Giannis Antetokounmpo has left a lot to be desired.
Rivers is known for being a culture-setter and a player’s coach, as well as a respected figure around the league.
However, he’s not a great tactician and gets outcoached often in the playoffs, which is the main reason why he had lost his previous two coaching jobs in the first place.
