Breaking news came out of Dallas last week around the start of the NFL Draft.
With the Cowboys in need of another running back, they made the move to bring back a familiar face in former All-Pro and Pro Bowl back Ezekiel Elliott.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, it is now confirmed that Elliott’s one-year deal is worth a max of $3 million.
Ezekiel Elliott contract breakdown: 1 year, max $3m

According to Archer, Elliott will earn $375,000 for his signing bonus, $1.25 million for his base salary, and an active roster bonus of $375,000.
His cap number will be $2 million, and he also has the opportunity to earn $1 million in incentives in 2024.
The former Ohio State Buckeye was drafted by Jerry Jones back in 2016 at No. 4 overall.
He would go on to earn three Pro Bowl trips in seven seasons.
He led the league in rushing yards twice (2016, 2018), had four 1,000-yard rushing seasons, and he also recorded 1,100 scrimmage yards in six of his seven years playing behind Dak Prescott.
After a down 2023 with the New England Patriots that saw him record a career-low 642 rushing yards, the former national champion is now more of a backup running back.
But, he did record 955 total yards and five total touchdowns for Bill Belichick, which is why Dallas felt like he could be a serviceable role player.
Perhaps Elliott and young running back Deuce Vaughn can form a nice one-two punch for Mike McCarthy and the Dallas offense.
After winning 12 games for the third consecutive season, the Cowboys should be back in contention once again with the help of the franchise legend.
