Jonathan Kuminga just had the best season of his career and became a vital part of the Golden State Warriors’ lineup.
But just how much is he really worthy?
This is a question that the Warriors’ front office is asking because Kuminga is currently seeking a significant payday.
According to Courtside Buzz, Kuminga is trying to land a $224 million max contract extension from the Warriors.
That’s an awful lot of money, but Kuminga has an awful lot of talent so will he get what he demands?
REPORT: Jonathan Kuminga is seeking a $224 Million max contract extension from the Golden State Warriors.
Kuminga, 21, averaged 16.1 PPG, 4.8 RPG, & 2.2 APG on 52.9 FG% for Golden State in his 3rd NBA season in 2023-24.

Last season, Kuminga posted 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 52.9% from the field.
Things got off to a rocky start for Kuminga and he wasn’t producing a lot or spending much time on the court.
But after a one-on-one chat with head coach Steve Kerr, Kuminga got called upon more often and played more minutes.
It ended up being a highlight season for Kuminga.
When 2023-24 came to an end, inside reporting from the Warriors said the team’s front office was adamant about not trading him.
Along with Steph Curry, he was seen as “untouchable.”
So, Kuminga is clearly a favorite and the Warriors aren’t willing to move him – but are they willing to pay him?
If they truly see the 21-year-old forward as the future of the team, especially in a post-Curry era, they might see eye-to-eye on this contract.
If Kuminga wants to land this massive deal, he will have to keep playing incredibly well when 2024-25 kicks off in a couple of months.
