Klay Thompson, one of the main cogs in the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty over the last decade, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, as he has unfollowed them on social media.

Many are skeptical the Warriors will re-sign him, and if they don’t, he could become a highly sought-after player on the open market.

Per Evan Sidery, Thompson is looking for a three-year contract.

While Thompson still has the ability to go off for big offensive performances, especially in big games, he’s clearly not the same player he used to be.

During the 2019 NBA Finals, he tore his ACL, which forced him to sit out the entire 2019-20 season, and just prior to the start of the following campaign, he tore his Achilles.

His shooting efficiency has been sporadic ever since, and he isn’t the above-average defender he used to be either.

If Thompson demands the type of contract that bona fide stars receive in the NBA, he could have trouble justifying such a deal.

While he has shot a strong 39.7 percent from 3-point range during the last three seasons, he’s at just 43.3 percent overall from the field during that span.

By comparison, the 34-year-old shot 45.9 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from downtown in his first eight seasons.

Still, there should be a number of teams that would love to have him, especially given his four NBA championship rings and vast playoff experience.

The question is, how much would the decaying Warriors, who missed the playoffs this season, love to have him back?
