Following their loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, the New Orleans Pelicans will now face the Sacramento Kings on Friday night for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
But they may be taking on that team without the assistance of their biggest star, Zion Williamson.
Williamson injured himself toward the end of the Lakers game and limped off the court, a devastating blow for the Pelicans that might have cost them the game.
Shams Charania is reporting that Williamson suffered a left hamstring injury and that tests will be done on Wednesday to learn the severity of the injury.

Williamson posted 40 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists during the game, a crucial part of their lineup.
It was an amazing game from Williamson and he was one of the reasons they surged back and made things very close.
It also happened to be the first taste of postseason action that Williamson ever had.
Due to a number of injuries, Williamson has never been able to appear in a playoff game so Tuesday’s game was even more noteworthy for the team.
When he injured his hamstring in the final quarter, fans instantly became concerned due to his history of being hurt.
Now the entire fanbase is collectively holding its breath for more news about Williamson.
If he is out for Friday’s game, the Pelicans will still have a chance to beat the Kings and move onto the postseason but it’ll be much harder.
The Pelicans are hoping that Williamson is ready to play, especially after the performance he had during Tuesday’s game.
Injuries have plagued Williamson throughout his career and it’ll be very painful if they flare up again right as his team fights for a spot in the postseason.
