The Los Angeles Lakers fired their championship-winning coach to replace him with a rookie.

Frank Vogel was in charge when they won their last title, but it seemed like he had lost control of the locker room in his final year with the organization.

Now, two years later, a report by Sam Amick reveals that Lakers owner Jeanie Buss blamed Vogel for failing to integrate Russell Westbrook, which is why she eventually gave them the green light to fire him (via NBA Central).

“Jeanie Buss reportedly believed that Frank Vogel was mainly responsible for not successfully integrating Russell Westbrook and ultimately greenlighted his firing,” said Amick.

Fast forward another couple of seasons and James has publically talked about how disappointed he was for not being able to get Kyrie Irving.

Westbrook was the team’s scapegoat from day one.

He was still the third-best player on the team in his first season there, yet he continued to get the blame for absolutely everything that went wrong for the team.

At the end of the day, Vogel was on the losing end of the power struggle that often comes with coaching LeBron James or coaching the Los Angeles Lakers.

Now, Darvin Ham is going through the same thing, and it seems like this team will never fulfill it’s true potential until they give someone some time to work.
