Anytime a player in the NBA is mentioned in the same breath as Michael Jordan, it tends to make headlines, and that’s exactly what has happened with Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker.
The Suns may be struggling in their second-round playoff series with the Denver Nuggets, with Nikola Jokic and company taking a 2-0 series lead, but Booker has been putting on a show as a scoring machine for Phoenix.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Booker continues to be a highly efficient scorer averaging over 35 points per game while shooting 55% from the field, which is ridiculous in this day and age in the NBA.
Jordan was the last player to accomplish this feat back in 1988.
Despite the loss, Devin Booker held his postseason averages over 35 PPG on 55% shooting through 7 games.
Booker is the 5th player in NBA postseason history to maintain those averages through 7 playoff games and he is the first since Michael Jordan in 1988. pic.twitter.com/1a7ppXW0oi

Although these numbers are awe-inspiring and equally as challenging to keep up moving forward, Booker would almost certainly give it up for two wins in this series.
The Nuggets have made easy work of the Suns in this series and now are only two wins away from advancing to the Western Conference Finals, which puts a lot of pressure on Booker and Kevin Durant to right the ship immediately.
Unfortunately for Phoenix, the team will likely be without Chris Paul for the rest of the series, which put even more pressure on Booker to produce in the backcourt and help fill the void left by his veteran teammate.
It’ll be interesting to see if Booker can continue to be efficient moving forward as he tries to help fill the void left by Paul’s absence and get this team back into this series against an excellent Nuggets team.
