The Philadelphia Eagles have let go of the rope in the past month as they’ve dropped three consecutive games following a strong start to the 2023 NFL season.

The Eagles were blown out by the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, and then upset by the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15.

The loss to Seattle was a brutal one for Philadelphia as it dropped them down in the standings and are now dealing with a rash of injuries on both sides of the football.

Jalen Hurts has been dealing with a knee injury for the past few weeks, and DeVonta Smith suffered his own knee injury in the loss to the Seahawks.

Smith missed the first two practices of the week, making him questionable for the team’s matchup against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.

Smith has been receiving around-the-clock treatment and told reporters he would be good to go against New York via Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (knee) says he’s playing on Monday night vs. the Giants,” McLane tweeted.

Smith seemed to be in good spirits when he made the announcement and that’s good news for the Eagles offense who could use all the help they can get even against an inferior opponent.

The wideout played nearly every snap against Seattle, but it remains to be seen how effective he’ll be on the field against New York.

Fortunately, Philadelphia shouldn’t have too many problems against their NFC East rivals and they should be able to get back on track come Monday.
