The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled to find a franchise quarterback since the departure of Ben Roethlisberger.
Roethlisberger was a staple of this offense for many years, and while he might have struggled near the end of his career, he generally played well enough to find favor in fan’s eyes.
The team drafted Kenny Pickett hoping to be an adequate replacement for Roethlisberger, but he hasn’t yielded the type of results they were looking for.
However, with their recent signing of Russell, fans and analysts alike are excited about the possibilities for this team.
Dez Bryant is one former player who reacted positively to this news.
Bryant indicated that the Steelers have improved with this signing, writing positively about Wilson’s arm talent.
The Steelers just got better
No body has a beautiful spiral bomb better than @DangeRussWilson and he give his a receivers a chance!
George Pickens I’m drafting you this year on my fantasy team

Bryant believes Wilson can elevate the pass-catchers in the Steelers’ offense, helping this young team get off the ground.
He also mentioned that George Pickens will be a target for him in fantasy football this year, which further indicates his opinion of Wilson.
Pickens played well in his rookie campaign despite having an inconsistent quarterback room.
Assuming he is healthy, Wilson should be able to support players like Pickens in this offense.
If he can play similarly to his mediocre years in Seattle, Wilson just might be able to help the Steelers make some noise in the AFC.
They still have Mike Tomlin as their head coach, and this defense was one of the best in the league last year, which helped keep their record over .500 despite their offensive woes.
