The NBA offseason is upon us, and many trades and surprising moves have already taken place.
One of the most surprising moves to NBA fans was Dillon Brooks’ sign-and-trade with the Houston Rockets.
Brooks now has left the Memphis Grizzlies, a team that has made the playoffs for the last three seasons and will have an opportunity to bring the Rockets out of a slump.
Despite a recent lack of success by the Rockets, it appears that Brooks is more than excited to join his new team.
In a recent conversation with Rockets reporter Jackson Gatlin, Brooks said, “I feel like it’s almost the exact same team from 3-4 years ago.”
“I feel like it’s exactly the same team from 3-4 years ago. Jalen is like Ja Morant. Jabari is like Jaren. Young guys that can expand their games to be the best in the league.”

The last time the Rockets made the playoffs was in the 2019-2020 season, largely due to the brilliance of James Harden.
While Harden is no longer with the Rockets, Brooks expressed his belief in the players that they do have.
“Jalen Green is like Ja Morant,” and “Jabari (Smith) is like Jaren (Jackson Jr.),” Brooks said.
The Grizzlies established themselves as one of the best young teams in the NBA.
Morant and Jackson Jr. are the two staples of the team, and Brooks was able to fit in alongside them.
Brooks believes that the Rockets can also get to that place, and believes they have the young players to do just that.
NBA fans will have to wait and see what this roster can do, and if Brooks can be a valued addition to a team that’s looking to end their playoff drought.
