The Dallas Mavericks need to regroup and go back to what worked for them throughout the course of the playoffs.
They don’t have any margin of error now that they’ve fallen to a 0-2 hole, but at least, they’ll be in front of their crowd for Games 3 and 4.
Luka Doncic has been inefficient with the ball in his hands, but he’s still been able to put up his usual scoring numbers.
Kyrie Irving has left plenty to be desired both as a scorer and a facilitator, and that newly-found defensive prowess has been nowhere to be found as well.
That’s why the rest of the supporting cast will have to step up big-time to keep this team in contention.
With that in mind, Shaquille O’Neal asked Dirk Nowitzki his thoughts on another player who had a breakout year for the Mavs this season, and he didn’t hesitate to name PJ Washington (via Playmaker).

Talking on Shaq’s podcast, Nowitzki gushed about the in-season trade to get Washington and Gafford to Dallas.
He claimed that he was a perfect fit for what they’re trying to do there, adding that he can knock down big shots and get the job done on both ends of the floor.
Washington has been a major addition to Jason Kidd’s team.
He had lost his spot in the starting lineup with the Charlotte Hornets, and he looks like an entirely different player now.
His shot-making and defense will be key for the Mavericks to get back in this series.
