The Minnesota Timberwolves finally have a superstar.
They had some good players and borderline franchise guys in the post-Kevin Garnett era, such as Kevin Love and Karl-Anthony Towns, but Anthony Edwards looks like someone who could finally get them over the hump.
He’s left his colleagues in awe with his performances in the postseason, and that includes Dirk Nowitzki.
Making a quick appearance on NBA on TNT to discuss the Timberwolves’ Game 1 win over the Denver Nuggets, Nowitzki tipped his hat to Edwards, gushing about his poise, athleticism, and how he’s clearly made for big moments.
Edwards dominated the reigning NBA champions with 43 points on 29 shots, adding seven rebounds, three assists, three three-pointers, one steal, and two blocks.
“He’s the complete package.. and he’s been fun to watch in this Playoffs,” Nowitzki said.

He’s made huge strides on the defensive end of the floor, and he clearly embraces the opportunity and the challenge to lock down the opposition’s best player.
Edwards is an elite trash-talker, but he’s also the kind of player who’s going to back up the talk on the court, making sure to let everybody on the floor know that he’s the best player out there.
The Timberwolves have now stolen homecourt advantage in the Western Conference Semifinals, but they’re clearly far from satisfied.
They’re looking to get back at the very same team that sent them home in just five games in the first round last season, and they have yet to lose a single game in this year’s playoffs.
The Timberwolves have only made it to the WCF once in franchise history, and with Edwards at the helm, they might even make it to the final stage.
