The NFL recently released its annual Top 100 list, and naturally, fans are excited to have something to debate for a few days to tide themselves over until the preseason gets fully underway.

Interestingly, two pairs of division rivals sit near the top of the list with the most players named, just behind the No. 1 team that had an impressive nine of the Top 100.

FinsXtra shared on X that the San Francisco 49ers lead the way with nine players in the Top 100, followed by a pair of AFC East rivals in the Miami Dolphins with eight and the New York Jets with six.

The top five was rounded out by a pair of NFC East rivals, with the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles tied at five each.

Teams with the most players in the #NFLTop100:

1. San Francisco 49ers (9)
2. Miami Dolphins (8)
3. New York Jets (6)
4. Dallas Cowboys (5)
5. Philadelphia Eagles (5)

The Dolphins have the distinction of having the No. 1 player on the list, with Tyreek Hill the best player in the league as voted by his peers. The Niners’ highest-ranked player is Christian McCaffrey at No. 3, while left tackle Trent Williams came in at No. 7.

Fred Warner is at No. 11 and George Kittle is at No. 14, so the Niners were all over the top of this list.

However, other than Hill, no other player from the Dolphins, Jets, Cowboys or Eagles was in the top 10. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs had three in that group (Patrick Mahomes at No. 4, Chris Jones at No. 6 and Travis Kelce at No. 9).

Miami and New York are set up for a battle atop the AFC East this season along with the four-time defending division champion Buffalo Bills.

A healthy Aaron Rodgers (No. 92 on the list) returning for New York should hopefully provide the three-way competition atop the division that fans were robbed of last season when the quarterback tore his Achilles on the opening drive of the season.
