The Los Angeles Dodgers have endured a brutal stretch of injuries this season, to so many key players including Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Tony Gonsolin, Walker Buehler, River Ryan, and more.

Clayton Kershaw also missed the first few months of the season and left his most recent start due to another injury, and manager Dave Roberts revealed a concerning update regarding his status.

Roberts said that Kershaw left his start Friday night because of a bone spur in his toe that he has dealt with on and off for years and the team is looking for more answers but adding it’s “obviously not good, there’s swelling, there’s pain.”

He said this is something Kershaw has been managing this year and some days are better than others, but when it flares up like it did Friday, they have to pull him to make sure the injury doesn’t affect his arm.

Another stint on the injured list isn’t out of the realm of possibilities, and Roberts added “I’d be shocked if we don’t have to make a move or two tomorrow” after being forced to empty the bullpen following Kershaw leaving his start.

Kershaw threw 27 pitches and exited after surrendering three runs and recording just three outs in the 10-9 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

It’s hard to even keep up with all the injuries the Dodgers’ rotation has gone through this season, but Yamamoto and Glasnow are nearing returns, so this injury could have come at a worse time.
