The Miami Dolphins just caught a huge break.

Their defense will get one of their most prominent players back on the practice field, and it couldn’t have happened at a better time.

According to a report by NFL insider Ari Meirov, they’ve just activated EDGE rusher Jaelean Phillips from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Phillips has been out since tearing his Achilles last season, and while he was always expected to be back just in time for the start of the season, it’s nice to know that there were no setbacks in his recovery.

Now, the star headhunter will have almost a month to ramp things up and get back to his best before the season opener.

The Dolphins will kick off the campaign at home vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, and while he still has to hit some benchmarks to be cleared to get back on the field, it seems like things are marching swiftly.

Needless to say, the Dolphins could’ve used some good news and one of their best players getting back on the field, as they’ve had a tough time regarding the health of some of their key contributors.

As of now, they still have EDGE rusher Bradley Chubb, linebacker Cameron Goode, guard Isaiah Wynn, and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on the PUP list.

More than that, HC Mike McDaniel also confirmed that he didn’t expect OBJ to be back in time for the start of the season.
