The Miami Dolphins needed to act fast.

Veteran LB Shaquil Barrett put them in quite a tough spot by suddenly announcing his retirement after signing a one-year deal with them earlier in the offseason.

That’s why they decided to bring back a familiar face and give him another opportunity to make a splash in South Beach.

According to a report by Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the Dolphins will sign veteran pass rusher Emmanuel Ogbah to a one-year deal.

The contract could be worth up to $5 million.

The Dolphins released the 30-year-old pass rusher in late March after some underwhelming performances.

Ogbah thrived early in his career with the Dolphins, logging 18 combined sacks in his first two years in Hard Rock Stadium.

He was only able to make nine appearances due to a triceps injury in 2022 before logging 5.5 sacks last season.

Ogbah was a second-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2016.

To this day, he’s logged 42.5 sacks and 268 combined tackles also playing for the Kansas City Chiefs for one season.

New defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver will hope that Ogbah will look more like the player he was a couple of years ago.
