The rich get richer, so they say.
The Miami Dolphins had one of the best defensive fronts in the NFL last season, and it appears they are adding another key piece to that unit.
According to Ian Rapoport’s recent tweet, the Dolphins are signing Calais Campbell to their roster for the 2024 NFL Season.
Homecoming: Long-time Pro Bowl DE Calais Campbell, one of the biggest name free agents available, is expected to sign with the #Dolphins, per me and @TomPelissero. Back at home for The U superstar.

As Rapoport mentioned, Campbell was one of the most prolific players left in free agency, and he’s now getting an opportunity to make an impact on the Dolphins.
This is great news for the Dolphins, especially since they had a downturn in production in the second half of the season last year.
Despite a hot start, they couldn’t stay healthy enough to make a meaningful impact on the AFC’s playoff race.
Adding a player of Campbell’s caliber is certainly a step in the right direction for this team, considering the knowledge he’s amassed during his time in the league.
Campbell will certainly be a leader for the young defenders on this team, and his on-field impact as a 37-year-old will likely inspire them to achieve all of their hopes and dreams.
The Dolphins needed an extra push to contend for the AFC East title, and they might have just gotten that in Campbell.
Of course, they’ll have to get through the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets, which could be a tall task given how good these teams are slated to be in 2024.
If anyone is going to help the Dolphins advance deeper in the playoffs, Campbell is one of the best options they could have picked.
