After a few weeks of the 2023 NFL Season, it looked like the Miami Dolphins were going to be an unstoppable force.
Their offense was firing on all cylinders, which encouraged fans of what the team might be capable of down the stretch.
While they were a great team for most of the season, the Dolphins ended up faltering towards the end of the year.
They ended up losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, ending their season far sooner than expected.
An early exit could be discouraging for the Dolphins and their fans, but there is reason for optimism moving into 2024.
They will still have many of their key contributors on the roster from both sides of the ball, including Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey should be back and fully healthy next season, which could be a catalyst for their defense.
According to reporter Daniel Oyefusi, new defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver called Ramsey “the ultimate chess piece.”
“To have him sit outside and be a field corner or something like that, I think is a detriment and we got to find ways to move them around where he can be most impactful,” Weaver said.

He also indicated that Ramsey has been underutilized in previous regimes, and he would like to use him more efficiently.
When healthy, Ramsey has been one of the best cornerbacks in the league.
He is quick and talented, and when it matters most, he comes up with big plays.
If he stays healthy, the Dolphins’ defense will be in good hands next year, and if the offense performs as expected, they could have the bounce back campaign that fans are clamoring for.
