The Miami Dolphins are in an interesting spot as a franchise heading into a pivotal season when it is time for them to take the next step and win playoff games. But the elephant in the room is that as they continue to bring in stars, they have yet to give quarterback Tua Tagovailoa a long-term contract extension.
With so many other quarterbacks around the league securing their bags, fans are beginning to wonder if the Dolphins are hesitant to pay Tagovailoa, but one member of their offensive line isn’t worried.
Left tackle Terron Armstead appeared on “Up & Adams” and said it’s just a matter of time.
“We need Tua to go anywhere we’re trying to go,” Armstead said. “All our dreams, goals, and aspirations are reliant on No. 1. The organization knows that.”

Tagovailoa put up huge numbers last season to the tune of 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns, but he did throw 14 interceptions and struggled in the team’s playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
It was the first NFL season Tagovailoa was able to play in all 17 regular season games, and his ability to avoid injury was a major positive after all he has been through in his career, both with the Dolphins and at Alabama.
His lack of production as a runner, injury history and inability to beat good teams has left many to wonder if the Dolphins are unwilling to commit to him as the long-term solution at quarterback.
However, if Armstead was this firm with his endorsement, it likely means the organization does believe in him.
