Once again, the New York Jets have been hurt by poor QB play.

However, even when he doesn’t play, it seems like someone still finds a way to blame Zach Wilson for everything that’s gone wrong in New York.

A report by The Athletic stated that the Jets wanted to turn back to Wilson after watching both Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian struggle, yet Wilson didn’t want to go back on the field out of fear of being injured.

Aaron Rodgers put whoever leaked that story on blast, which only made it seem all the more true.

That’s why HC Robert Saleh, Wilson, and now even former teammate Braxton Berrios have denied this story.

Talking to Kay Adams for FanDuel’s Up & Adams show, the former New York Jets WR stated that there’s no way people are doubting Wilson’s character after everything he’s been through, adding that there’s not a world in which he would refuse to go out there and play.

It’s become evident that Wilson isn’t the most popular figure in the Jets locker room, so perhaps someone fabricated this story to make sure to get rid of him once and for all.

Still, that narrative could’ve ended his career, which was already in jeopardy.

It’s one thing to go out there and not do a good job, but not wanting to play speaks volumes of a player’s love and feel for the game and that would’ve been the ultimate deal-breaker for any team even slightly considering making a run at him in the offseason.
