The NFL offseason is constantly a work in progress, especially as the preseason looms.

In an effort to bolster its roster, the Miami Dolphins announced, per KPRC2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson, that they will work out former Browns receiver Mike Harley Jr on Wednesday.

Harley was a four-star All-American in high school who then played collegiately with the Miami Hurricanes from 2017-2021.

During that time, he caught 182 total passes (which set a program career record, passing Reggie Wayne) and 15 touchdowns.

He set a second ‘Canes record by snagging 13 passes in a single game.

The slot receiver’s best years were in 2020 and 2021 when he had 57 receptions both seasons.

Harley also hauled in seven touchdowns in 2020.

The 5’11, 180-pounder went undrafted in 2022 and signed an undrafted free-agent contract with Cleveland.

He spent parts of two seasons with the Browns and was primarily on the practice squad.

After getting released by the team in August 2023, Harley signed with the DC Defenders of the United Football League in early 2024.

He was released by the Defenders a week later.

Miami currently has two of the best receivers in the NFL in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

The Dolphins added former Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., in the offseason as well.

Harley is a long shot to make the roster, to say the least.

However, the opportunity to play for his hometown team will be incentive enough to give it his best effort.
