The Cleveland Cavaliers put an end to years of speculation today.
Donovan Mitchell has officially agreed to sign a very lucrative three-year contract extension that will keep him tied to the organization for years to come.
It was rather surprising to some fans, given all that had been rumored and reported about Mitchell’s future, but it was never a doubt for him.
That’s why he took to social media to share a clip of him reacting to his new contract while driving around.
He stated that he didn’t get what all the fuss around his future was about if he had been saying the same *expletive* all year long (via Nick Pedone).

So, now that they’ve finally gotten that out of the way, it’s all about focusing and getting the job done in The Land.
Some argued that Mitchell wasn’t happy in Cleveland and that he was eventually going to force his way to his hometown New York Knicks.
Those rumors got bigger when he put the brakes on all the contract extension talks shortly after the Cavs claimed that they were optimistic about getting a deal done.
Then again, other insiders reported that Mitchell never requested a trade or even hinted at not being happy in Cleveland, adding that they were always expected to reach an agreement.
Mitchell didn’t sign a contract extension earlier because it didn’t make sense for him from a financial standpoint.
Now, they can finally put all these rumors to rest, at least for the next couple of years.
