The Cleveland Cavaliers were defeated 122-101 by the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night.
During that game, Donovan Mitchell scored 24 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Still, he wasn’t entirely happy with his performance, although he told Cleveland.com that he is trying to be gentle with himself.
“I’m trying to be easier on myself,” Mitchell said.
He added, “I want to be perfect for the group. I’m continuing to build so when we get to the playoffs, I’m ready to go.”

Mitchell has been battling injuries lately and had multiple games when he wasn’t to score more than 20 points.
That isn’t good news for the Cavaliers, who have come to expect the very best from Mitchell.
The Cavaliers have lost six of their last nine games, but they are still in a good position before the playoffs start.
They are currently the third team in the East and very close to stealing the second seed from the Milwaukee Bucks.
They want to have a successful run in the playoffs, especially after last year.
They had a promising regular season in 2022-23 but they then got eliminated from the playoffs in the opening round.
Mitchell and his team are desperate to ensure that doesn’t happen again.
That will require some good luck when it comes to seeding and the opponent they face.
For example, the current sixth seed, the Miami Heat, could be very hard on them.
But the other part of the equation will be the team remaining healthy, committed, and competitive.
It’s good that Mitchell is being easy on himself after Wednesday’s loss because he will need to truly believe in himself in the weeks ahead if the Cavaliers wish to erase the memory of last year’s playoffs.
