The 2023-2024 NBA Season ended sooner for the Cleveland Cavaliers than they anticipated.

After playing well during the regular season and in the first round of the playoffs, they ran into the Boston Celtics in Round 2, losing in five games.

While losing to the future champs is some consolation, losing at this stage in the postseason is still suboptimal.

The front office responded to this early exit by firing head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, and there could be further shakeups to this team in the near future.

After he left, Bickerstaff lauded Luka Doncic’s ability to fight through pain in the NBA Finals, which could have been a shot at some of his former players.

Several Cavaliers players got injured during the second round of the playoffs, including Jarrett Allen and Donovan Mitchell, who both missed time.

Bickerstaff’s comments were seemingly backhanded comments directed at these two stars, which did not go over well.

Mitchell recently posted a photo of him and Allen on his Instagram story, as shared by NBA Central on Twitter, seemingly letting Bickerstaff and other doubters know that they are standing on a united front.

Mitchell and the Cavaliers proved to the rest of the league that they belonged in the playoffs.

They have a lot of talent on their roster but for whatever reason, they were unable to turn that into a deep run.

There could be a few roster changes over the next few months, but as a whole, the Cavaliers could find themselves in a similar position next year, hopefully making it further in the postseason.
