Donovan Mitchell has had a very busy offseason.
He just signed a big deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers and is preparing for his next season with a new coach.
During his time off, Mitchell has been hanging out with friends and family.
He has also been hanging out with famous Hollywood actor Tobey Maguire.
According to a picture shared by ClutchPoints and Hoop Central, Mitchell was spotted at a party with Maguire.
This would be a cool connection under any circumstances but it’s even neater because of Mitchell and Maguire’s unique link.
For years, Mitchell has been referred to as “Spida,” while Maguire played the iconic Spider-Man for years.
So this meetup really was a very iconic and marvelous moment.

For many people, Maguire will always be viewed as the real Spider-Man.
He played the role from 2002 to 2007 and remains a major part of comic book movie history.
As for Mitchell, he has been called “Spida” for years and was given the nickname by a former college team’s father because of his superhero skills and speed.
He will be showing off those skills and speed next season.
There were many questions about Mitchell and his future for the last few months and plenty of predictions of him leaving the Cavaliers.
In the end, he elected to remain in Cleveland and is hoping to build upon what the team has been doing over the last several seasons.
Last season, he was the Cavaliers’ leading scorer with an average of 26.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.
If he keeps playing like that in the new season and helps his team go far in the playoffs, Mitchell really will be considered a superhero like Maguire.
