The first three games of the NBA Finals didn’t go as planned for the Dallas Mavericks.

Despite coming off a five-game series win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals, the Mavericks struggled to gain any ground against the Boston Celtics.

One of the biggest reasons for the Mavericks’ struggles was Luka Doncic’s lack of production, particularly in Game 3.

Doncic is supposed to be the best player on this team and one of the best in the NBA, but he didn’t play like it in Game 3.

Doris Burke recently commented on this in an appearance on Sirius XM NBA Radio, indicating that Doncic knew about his struggles, and was also aware of what the media was saying about him.

“Luka heard that criticism and it was fair criticism,” Burke said.

Fans and media members alike were critical of Doncic’s performance in Game 3, and after seeing his outing in Game 4, Burke believes that he not only heard all of the noise but worked very hard to combat it.

He finished Game 4 with 29 points, five rebounds, and five assists, helping the Mavericks blow out the Celtics.

While the Mavericks need a miracle to come back and win this series, Doncic’s performance last game was a step in the right direction.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Game 5 after the Mavericks’ recent blowout win.

The Celtics might have some extra energy and motivation to win at home, while the Mavericks could have picked up the amount of momentum they needed to start a comeback.
