In the pre-draft process, the media usually does all of the talking.

However, it is fun to hear from the draft’s incoming prospects on what they are excited about when it comes to joining the NFL.

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye chatted about who he is most excited to face on the This Is Football podcast.

“I think Micah Parsons…He’s such a great player. Getting a chance to line up and see him roam around different positions would be fun to play against,” Maye said on Monday.

It would be especially interesting if a team like the Washington Commanders or the New York Giants made the move to draft Maye in the top 10 of the draft.

That would then mean that he would face Parsons twice a year in the NFC East.

But picking Parsons was a good answer.

Dallas’s star edge-rusher is one of the elite players in the league.

In his first three years in the league, he has made three All-Pro teams and recorded over 40 sacks.

Put him up there with T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett as the league’s best edge-rushers.

If the former ACC Player of the Year in Maye was to be taken by the New England Patriots at No. 3 overall, they might actually save him a few years on his career by not letting Parsons feast on him too often.

Regardless of where he is taken, it is really cool to see the respect between a young prospect and one of the league’s brightest stars.
