For years, fans have questioned why the Golden State Warriors organization firmly stood behind Draymond Green during multiple on-court incidents and suspensions.
It’s because Green is not only a vital part of the team’s roster but also a close friend to many at Golden State.
Speaking on his show, Green opened up about a very emotional moment with his head coach, Steve Kerr.
According to a video shared by NBACentral, Kerr visited Green at the start of his suspension and the two men cried together before Kerr said he wanted Green to “end this the right way.”
“There’s a bond there,” Green said.
Draymond Green disclosed that Steve Kerr visited him a few weeks back, during which time they shared an emotional moment, crying together in the yard

Kerr has been Green’s head coach for most of his career and they have experienced a ton of good as well as a lot of bad together.
Because they have worked together so much and grown so close, Kerr sees Green as more than just his player, but also his friend.
He has surely witnessed sides of Green that the general public has not and understands him better than fans do.
That is why he has repeatedly stood up and defended Green, even during his more outrageous and ugly moments.
However, Kerr actually spoke out against Green’s recent clash with Jusuf Nurkic.
He noted how disappointed he was by Green and how much his actions hurt the team.
This was a stark change from what fans had heard before from Kerr and the Warriors and a sign that something was definitely going to change.
Either Green was going to commit to serious progress and growth or else the team was going to move on from him.
Green’s moment with Kerr obviously touched him and hopefully, it encouraged him to become a better player and person.
