The Golden State Warriors‘ Draymond Green has had quite an accomplished NBA career.
He has won four world championships, a Defensive Player of the Year award, and has four All-Star Game selections as his team’s Swiss Army knife and defensive master.
Some have felt recently that he is in decline, but he is still motivated for this coming season.
Per ESPN via Hoop Central, he says his motivation this year is to get new teammate Chris Paul his first title.
Draymond Green:
“I look at this as one of the most important years of my career… It’s not to redeem anything about Draymond. My goal is that we can help Chris Paul get his first championship.”

Paul is one of the game’s most accomplished point guards, and he will certainly be a first-ballot Hall of Famer after his career ends.
Over 18 seasons in the NBA, he has averaged 17.9 points and 9.5 assists a game, and many have praised him for his strong leadership skills.
But lately, he has appeared to be in clear decline.
This past season, the 38-year-old averaged 13.9 points a game on 44.0 percent field-goal shooting.
In Golden State, Paul will likely be coming off the bench to backup Stephen Curry, and the hope is that a reduced role and workload will revitalize him and result in an increase in his offensive efficiency.
However, the Warriors, who are already aged, have gotten even older by jettisoning young stud Jordan Poole for Paul.
The Western Conference will be much tougher this season than it was last year when they lost in the second round of the playoffs, which means it could be even more difficult for them to recapture their old glory.
