The Golden State Warriors season didn’t get started on the right foot.

Jordan Poole and Draymond Green got into a heated altercation during the offseason.

Green punched Poole after some comments, and he was subsequently suspended.

That took a major toll on their chemistry, as Green wasn’t as vocal as he usually was because he knew he was at fault and his teammates looked at him differently now.

In a recent interview, he admitted that he felt doubt because he didn’t even know whether he would get an opportunity to redeem himself in the eyes of his teammates (via ClutchPoints).

“If I’m honest, that didn’t necessarily give me doubt. What gave me doubt is that I didn’t know if I would have the opportunity to redeem myself.”

There was a lot of uncertainty regarding Green’s future with the team.

He opted out at the end of the season and became a free agent, and he was looking to get a contract extension at the time.

There were rumors about a potential trade, and some even stated that he did that to force his way out and join LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors developed some bad habits and Green admitted he failed as a leader because he felt like he had lost the right to call everybody out like he used to do.

Fast forward to today, and the Warriors obviously took his side by sending Poole away and signing him to that big contract extension.

He earned the benefit of the doubt and could redeem himself after all, but it was a very complicated situation in the Bay area.
