After an NBA offseason in which it seemed like the Golden State Warriors had addressed their issues by parting ways with Jordan Poole and had gotten better with the addition of veteran point guard Chris Paul, the Warriors headed into the 2023-24 campaign with high hopes of being a legitimate title contender in the Western Conference once again.
Unfortunately, as the league reaches the halfway point of the regular season, the Warriors have been a disaster, with seemingly nothing going right for the storied franchise that currently sports a losing record of 17-19 while sitting in 12th place in the West.
One of the main reasons for the team’s struggles this season has been the distraction caused by veteran forward Draymond Green, who has been suspended twice for his ill-advised actions on the basketball floor, forcing him to miss multiple games.
With Green coming off his latest suspension, which ended up being 12 games, the league wants the four-time NBA champion to seek counseling in order to deal with his anger issues.
As Green nears his return to the floor, the 33-year-old has been nothing but humble and apologetic and wants to get back to work sooner rather than later because he believes he’s done enough damage in San Francisco, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic via Legion Hoops.
Draymond Green on the urgency to return to play quickly: “I’ve cost this team enough.”
Draymond also says Brandin Podziemski started a welcome back round of applause for him….
His response: “Im not sure I deserve it.”

With the Warriors facing an uphill battle for the rest of the season, it remains to be seen whether this struggling team can salvage the 2023-24 campaign and if Green can have the same impact on the floor after going through what he’s been through.
Only time will tell, but as of right now, the Warriors are in trouble and could be facing the end of a dynasty in the Bay Area.
