The Golden State Warriors will always march to Stephen Curry’s beat.

So, even though some might be disappointed by him scoring “only” 20 points in a must-win matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, he was still the best player on the court yesterday.

If you don’t take our word for it, just listen to Draymond Green, who broke down Curry’s impact as a playmaker with his 12 assists.

Green pointed out the fact that those 12 assists were Curry’s most in a playoff game since 2014, taking the blame for that because he’s also one of their primary playmakers.

“Super under control, knew exactly what he wanted to get to, and I thought it was absolutely incredible”

He also lauded Steph for staying poised and in control and serving as their floor general, creating spaces and shots and almost inviting the Lakers to trap him before getting rid of the basketball.

There’s an ongoing debate about Curry being the greatest point guard of all time, and most of his haters believe he’ll never earn that distinction because he’s not a traditional, pass-first kind of PG.

Nonetheless, a lot of that has also had to do with Draymond’s presence.

It’s not that Curry can’t average double-digit assists every season; it’s just that the Warriors make the most of one of the best passing forwards in the game when Green is on the court.

Curry’s passing is perhaps the most underrated part of his game, and we all get so caught up in the spectacular shooting.

But make no mistake, Steph is an elite playmaker, and last night’s game was just another reminder of that.
