The Dallas Mavericks took a commanding 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals after coming from behind to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2.

Minnesota entered the series as the favorites because of home-court advantage, but it’s completely gone now after they allowed Dallas to steal two games on the road.

Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have been brilliant in the first two games, taking turns down the stretch in fourth quarters to eek out wins over the Timberwolves.

Doncic had a brilliant performance in Game 2 that culminated with him hitting the game-winning 3-pointer over Rudy Gobert’s outstretched arms.

Along with Irving, who can create his own shot at any time against any defender, Dallas has a perfect one-two punch to close games with.

The Doncic-Irving backcourt sparked some debate between Reggie Miller, Draymond Green, and the rest of the NBA on TNT crew about who the best backcourt in NBA history is, via the network’s official Twitter account.

During the game broadcast, Stan Van Gundy made a comment regarding Doncic and Irving being one of the best backcourt pairings ever, though Green quickly advocates for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

It’s too early to crown Doncic and Irving the best backcourt in league history, especially because they haven’t won an NBA championship.

However, to Miller’s point, the Mavericks’ star duo is arguably the best when it comes to getting a basket in crunch time no matter the circumstances.
