Only a year after winning their latest championship, the Golden State Warriors just had one of the most disappointing seasons of the Steph Curry era.

Partly because of that, they made a few big changes: they lost Jordan Poole and added Chris Paul.

Paul, one of the most iconic guards in NBA history, could do a lot for the team.

According to Draymond Green, Paul is going to add variety to the team and potential to one of its players.

“Chris Paul will completely unlock Jonathan Kuminga and his growth,” Green said on the latest episode of Podcast P with Paul George.

Kuminga, who just concluded his second season with the Warriors, averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists during 2022-23.

That is mostly in line with what he was doing during his rookie year too.

Green pointed to the relationship between Paul and Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns.

According to Green, Ayton was something of a bust before he started working with Paul.

The star guard was able to add to his game, give him direction, and set him up for success.

He can do the same thing with Kuminga.

Green also noted that Paul will give the Warriors a lot more variety on the floor.

He claims that his team lost their series against the Los Angeles Lakers because LA was able to limit them and take away all their options.

Paul will expand the team’s offense and make it harder for opponents to figure out and stop them.

There is no doubt that Paul has the sort of experience and expertise that can greatly enhance the Warriors.

If Green is right, this might end up being one of the smartest moves of the offseason.
