The Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson couldn’t reach an agreement.

While it was surprising to see him leave the Bay area to some, this was a long time in the making.

Thompson never shied away from this story and made it loud and clear that he wasn’t happy with his situation.

Unfortunately, that also took a toll on his game, particularly early in the season, and his shot wasn’t falling at all.

So, now that he’s finally gone, Draymond Green wanted to address the situation.

In the latest edition of his podcast, the former Defensive Player of the Year claimed that you could see how this situation was making him unhappy (via 95.7 The Game).

He stated that those who cared about him only wanted to see him get better, not because of his game but because of his well-being, adding that what once brought him joy seemed to be making him unhappy.

Thompson closed out the year on a high note, knocking down the second-most three-pointers in the league after the All-Star break while shooting them at a 42% clip.

Still, that wasn’t enough to convince the Warriors to give him the kind of money he was looking for, and going 0-for-10 in an elimination game didn’t do much to help his case.

He still has plenty left in the tank and should be extra motivated to prove so.

And with the pressure of a contract negotiation behind him, he could be in for a huge bounceback in Dallas.
