Long before he became one of the best players in NBA history, LeBron James was also wreaking havoc on the football field.

He was once considered to be the No. 1 football prospect in Ohio.

Standing at 6-foot-8, 232 pounds, scouts called him a ‘taller, slower version of Randy Moss,’ and was even gauging interest from several blue-collar programs before eventually deciding to take his talents straight to the NBA.

James averaged well over 20 yards per catch and totaled 103 receptions for 2,065 yards and 23 touchdowns in two years of high school football.

Considering that, his athleticism, strength, and longevity, renowned football agent Drew Rosenhaus believes he would’ve been one of the best tight ends in NFL history.

Per On3, Rosenhaus thinks the four-time NBA champion was built to be a star in football as well.

“I don’t have any doubt whatever LeBron did, he’d be one of the greats,” Rosenhaus said via On3. “I certainly think he would have gone down as an all-star tight end.

Needless to say, he’s not the first person to make this kind of assessment.

As a matter of fact, James once revealed that Jerry Jones made him an offer to get him to play tight end for the Dallas Cowboys during the NBA lockdown.

LeBron’s NBA career is coming to an end, so he must take better care of his body now more than ever.

But even if football is clearly more taxing on the body and more dangerous, perhaps he’ll please the fans and agree to sign a one-day contract with the team of his choosing once his hooping days are over.
