After a third and potentially final stint with the Los Angeles Lakers, veteran center Dwight Howard was unable to secure another job in the NBA, forcing him to continue his playing career overseas, where he seems to have had some success.
Although Howard has done well in his international stint, he still has a desire to play in the NBA before calling it a career, which might be a difficult prospect for the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
Even though Howard keeps his body in exceptional shape, he admits there’s kind of a changing of the guard in the NBA right now, with veteran stars starting to fade and young stars on the rise starting to take over.
On a recent appearance on “The OGs Show,” Howard opened up about what he wants to do in the twilight of his basketball career.
“I’m trying to decide whether I want to retire or if I want to give it a couple more years, and just looking at the stature of the NBA, the young bulls are mature, and they’re ready to step up and take over,” Howard said. … “I do believe I could help any team win.”

Only time will tell if Howard will get another shot to play on the NBA level, as it is unclear whether any team in the league has shown a level of interest in the future Hall of Famer.
However, with the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic being the team to beat, Howard could provide the kind of defense needed to help combat the three-time NBA MVP, which might make him an intriguing addition to a title contender next season.
