Dwayne Wade has been officially inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame.

Wade was primarily known for his time with the Miami Heat but also spent time with the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Throughout his 16-year NBA career, Wade faced off against some of the most prolific players in NBA history.

One such player was Allen Iverson, who he mentioned in his acceptance speech.

According to the NBA’s official page, Wade said, “You showed us that success and greatness are achievable even in the face of adversity.”

Wade also said, “The way you played the game was exciting and fearless.”

He also mentioned that he faced off against Iverson but had a difficult time stopping him on the court.

In the 16 games Wade and Iverson shared the court, Iverson averaged 27 points, six assists, and three rebounds per contest.

Iverson’s ability to dominate a game was noted throughout his career, especially against Wade.

Even in a moment that was about Wade’s career accomplishments, he made a point to discuss others and their impact on his career.

Iverson and Wade’s collective impacts on the game will not soon be forgotten.

LeBron James is the only active player from that era of basketball, a sign of this style of play making its way out of the league.

Something about early 2000s basketball is nostalgic for NBA fans, and it’s especially noted given Wade’s recent comments.

Will the NBA ever see players similar to what Wade and Iverson were able to do throughout their respective careers?
