Not so long ago, Dwyane Wade was putting opponents on a poster on an NBA hardwood.
Now, he’s making moves behind closed doors as a businessman.
The three-time NBA champion was present at the Chicago Sky’s practice on Tuesday morning, all but confirming his alleged interest in investing in the WNBA franchise.
According to a report by the Chicago Sun Times, Wade spent the afternoon talking with the principal owner and VP of Basketball Operations, Michael Alter and Ann Crosby, respectively.

He sat courtside all dressed up in Sky apparel, and even took a picture with the team.
It’s also worth noting that Sky coach and GM, James Wade, just happens to be Dwyane’s cousin.
Wade’s ties to the Sky are more than obvious.
He was born and raised in Chicago and even had a brief stint with the Chicago Bulls.
Wade is currently a minority owner of the Utah Jazz, so this would be nothing new for the former Miami Heat superstar, who has embarked on multiple business endeavors since walking away from the league.
Needless to say, adding D-Wade to the mix could make the Chicago Sky and even more appealing destination for emerging WNBA stars, who already consider it one of the places to be due to its hoops-related culture and central location.
