Since retiring from the NBA years ago, Dwyane Wade has stayed active with multiple media projects.
He has remained in the public eye in a very big way.
But now Wade is putting his basketball love and knowledge to good use and investing in a WNBA team.
The three-time champion is joining the WNBA’s Chicago Sky ownership group, he announced on Friday, via ESPN’s Alexa Philippou.

Wade’s big move isn’t too surprising, considering he has been seen at the Sky practice facility in Illinois throughout the last few months.
This isn’t the first time that he has made a choice like this.
Since retiring in 2019, he has joined the ownership groups for the Utah Jazz and Real Salt Lake.
But owning part of the Sky means more to Wade, since he grew up in Chicago and says that his mother, a basketball fan, is the person who got him involved in the game.
The Sky have undergone some changes lately, losing their big stars Candace Parker, Courtney Vandersloot, Allie Quigley, and Emma Meesseman, as well as head coach James Wade.
Wade could certainly help the team out if they ever asked for it.
During his time in the NBA, he was a 13-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA player, and Finals MVP.
He is also a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team and is about to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame next month.
